Real voters are limited in how much they can give to candidates—and rightly so—because they don’t know what they are doing. And now, thanks to those great Supreme Court Justices Sam Alito, John Roberts and Antonin Scalia in the Citizens United decision, corporations can now spend unlimitedly to affect the political process and elections in the U.S.
Free at last, free at last, God almighty…free at last.
This is a very wise decision and let me tell you why.
There are a lot of real living human beings out there and each of them, whether they make any money or not, get to vote and that gives them a majority. Who came up with that crazy idea?
We are in the minority– there aren’t that many of us—only 1 %– who make real money. So we are at a huge disadvantage. So this levels the playing field. That is why I see this Citizens United decision as a real civil rights victory for guys like me.
For now on, any corporation finally has the ability to have its own say and participate in the great American Democracy.
And you know, I picture the corporate boards that I am on — with great guys I mean wealthy guys from Germany, India, Saudi Arabia, and Japan and Mexico. And now these guys can help decide how much money we can spend to influence American Politics.
And rightly so—because if you think about it—up until now the guys from Saudi Arabia and those other countries have been discriminated against by not being able to participate in our elections. They haven’t been able to vote and they haven’t been able to give money to candidates. Now, through corporations they can.
This opens the door for us to outsource American democracy, just like we outsourced all those American jobs…and as we all know, outsourcing always pays off for us in the end.
